We are one week into earnings season, and the results are looking fairly strong. Let’s take a closer look in this edition of the Weekend Market Review with Brett Witkowski.

The season kicked off with solid performances from the banks, American Express, and Netflix. The S&P 500 continues to push into all-time highs, with both the 50-day and 200-day moving averages trending upward.

Bank earnings showed positive results in both sales and EPS among major players. American Express gave us a glimpse into the resilience of the American consumer, though it also noted some softness in travel, a trend worth watching. Netflix reported strong ad performance and user engagement, and even raised its guidance, largely due to currency tailwinds.
